Museum Area

The museum’s total area is more than 1,000 square metres. In this six-floor museum (including ground floor and 1 rooftop), there are more than 5,000 exhibits, more than 3,000 of those are antiques and fossils dating to 2,500 years BC. The antiques discovered in Phu Quoc belong to Oc Eo culture; other antiques orignated from Ly, Tran dynasties and were founded in wrecks.

The exhibits are arranged and displayed ceremoniously according to certain periods of time from most olden dynasty to current status, relating to  some personages who set up important impacts on Phu Quoc such as Mac dynasty, King Nguyen Phuc Anh, patriot Nguyen Trung Truc, etc.

The arrangement in the museum could be described as following:

Ground floor: Introducing the developing history of the island from the beginning to current moment  and about those famous people mentioned above.

First floor: Exhibiting antiques found in the island

Second floor: Offering seminars on ancient ceramics found in wrecks.

Third floor: Introducing the beauty of the island culture

Fourth floor: An overview about working tools and life tools used by the residents over periods of time.

Rooftop: An ideal comtemplating place to view beautiful spots from above with a souvenir shopping area.
